SAA Recommended Supply List
6th Grade - McGuire

Please do not bring things which are not on this list; there is not much storage in your locker. You will not be bringing backpacks to class, just your pocket file and pencil pouch. Many items you need will be supplied by SAA or your teacher (ruler, protractor, compass, etc.)

Expanding 7-Pocket File (with tabs) - Click here to see picture.
If you want to get this ready before class starts, write these words on the tabs in this order: Math, Language Arts, Word Work, Social Studies, Science, Paper, Planner. If you buy one with more than 7 tabs, the blank or extra sections should be between the Science and Paper tabs.

2 Pens - blue or black You will need to replace them, as needed.

Lined Paper - approximately 50 sheets of college ruled. You will need a continuing supply.

Scissors - craft quality and good enough to cut felt and thin cardboard

3 Pencils with Erasers - mechanical or regular. You will need a continuing supply.

Colored Pencils - basic set of 8 colors

Thin Markers - basic set of 8 colors

Black Sharpie Marker - one, fine point

Dry Erase Marker – one, wide tip, any color that has good contrast on a white board (ex. NOT yellow).

Highlighter - one, any color

$3 to help cover costs of Student Planner (provided by SAA)

Large Pencil Box or Pouch - to hold all pens, pencils, markers, scissors, colored pencils and Sharpie

Large Glue Stick - one, you will need to replace it, as needed.

2 Spiral Notebook or Composition Books - for student writing and math journals. Your choice: wide ruled or college-ruled.

Small, Reusable, Inexpensive, Sports Water BottleClick here to see picture.
Should fit well in the corner of your desk, without taking up too much room. Should be cleaned in your dishwasher at least every month. Will be filled from water cooler in our classroom. I will not provide cups. Please do not just bring a one-use water bottle; they are noisy and leak.

Baby Photo of Student - as young as possible. (This will be returned to your family in about a month.) Send it in an envelope and do NOT show other students. Photos will be placed on a bulletin board and others will try to guess who you are. So, keep it a secret.

A List of all the Books You Read this Summer

Personal flash drive USBClick here to see picture.
Do not bring it, if you can’t put your name on it. This is for storing school project files ONLY. You may not bring other files, games, etc. to school.

Bring ONE of the following for the Classroom - Hand Sanitizer, tissue, sanitizer wipes.

Please mark student's name on items that you send to school. This will help us keep track of who owns what.

Thank you!
